K-12 Purpose Summit

A Journey of Renewal and Innovation for Educators
January 26 - April 24, 2021 | A Virtual Engagement

"I left inspired, with my two colleagues, to research, design, build, and implement our Purpose Learning Capstone Course."

- Peggy Proctor, Head of School, Echo Horizon School
In the future, we will remember 2020 as the year when every teacher was thrown off balance and all the cracks in school were blown open. But how will we experience 2021?
As teachers, we can decide to live 2021 with purpose, hope, and a determination to make change. Join us for the third annual K-12 Purpose Summit, a virtual journey from January to April to explore the future of learning with a small group of diverse and committed educators. In a series of interactive virtual sessions, we will create community, explore our purpose, and design big, new ideas.
During the summit, each participant will:
1) Complete a 3-month program of living purposefully
2) Implement two inspiring work products in school

The experience includes 16 hours of synchronous meeting time, including inspiring large group time, team huddles for reflection, and one-on-one sessions with a WLS coach. Between sessions, we work asynchronously to dig deep, dream, and support each other. Join a community of engaged, supportive educators from around the country committed to reimagining their classrooms and schools, renewing their work, and pushing the boundaries of learning.

The Process

Picture
Clarify our own purpose
We begin by clarifying our own purpose as teachers and creating a “Purpose Map” to help us navigate 2021 with intention. Before we can coach students to discover purpose, we have to do the hard work ourselves.
Picture
Explore the science of purpose
We explore the theory and science of purpose, and understand why purpose helps both adults and students learn deeper, manage stress better, and feel more alive.
Picture
Learn from education changemakers
We engage with changemakers pushing the frontiers of purpose-driven learning. Learning in the past was about thinking. Learning of the future combines thinking, feeling, and doing, where students can explore their unique purpose.
Picture
Design and implement your ideas
Working in teams, we create “easy hacks” and “moonshot” ideas. We convert these ideas into tangible work products through participant feedback, and one-on-one sessions with a WLS coach.
